Not much to post

Well I have not had much to post these past few days. Nothing much been happening due to the snow and ice and lack of a car, there is not much to report. I used a sewing machine last night for the very first time in over 20 years. Took me a while, but kind of got the hang of sewing straight lines, just.

We have been watching the Blue Tits in the garden, most of them coming up to the windows and looking through by landing on the leading on the glass.

We also had a Buzzard on the post in the garden this morning, but he did not stay there for long as the Crows were mobbing him, so he cleared off. Back at our previous home we had a yearling Buzzard from the nest down in the Escley Brook that stayed in the garden most of the day for around 5 months. He would either be sat in the tree or on the post or collecting worms. He was not as skittish as all the other birds in the area either. I used to try and take pics of him, but always pushed my luck by trying to get too close.

I have had an interest in Ornithology since I was a very young lad. I have set up a ‘hide in the garden and feeders very close to it so I can hopefully take pics from there. I say ‘hide’, I mean a 1 man tent, but I have it in the center of an evergreen tree. I have been out once, but but found it very uncomfortable trying to keep still long enough to keep the birds close for long enough. I have a 300 mm zoom lens, but it is not really very good for the job to be honest. Here are a few pics that I did take though:
